A few years into my tenure with The Garrity Group our team had a strategic planning session; it was during this session that we decided that the company’s focus moving forward would be to be “the public relations firm that leading organizations turn to for critical opportunities and issues that impact their operations in New Mexico.”

New Mexico is our home; we’ve made it our goal to be experts on the communities, businesses, events, thought leaders and media that makeup its unique landscape and have been and continue to be successful in that goal.  Our concentration on understanding and serving this state, with equal dedication to being informed and involved in the public relations industry contributes to my loyalty and partiality to the firm.

As we move into 2016, The Garrity Group will stay steadfast in our focus on New Mexico, while also concentrating on strengthening our industry foothold.  A few things we are excited about in this upcoming year:

  •  Worldcom Public Relations Group Meeting in Santa Fe: Since 2011, The Garrity Group has been a partner of the Worldcom Public Relations Group, the world’s leading partnership of global public relations firms. Established in 1988, Worldcom bundles the knowledge and expertise of 110 international PR agency partners operating in over 95 cities on 6 continents. The most capable PR firms serve national and international clients while retaining the flexibility and client-service focus inherent in independent agencies. The group’s annual America’s Region meeting will occur in Santa Fe this October at the invitation of The Garrity Group.
  • PRCG 2016 Annual Conference in Albuquerque: The Public Relations Consultants Group is made up of senior-level PR experts in every major market in the United States, a group that firm president, Tom Garrity, has been involved with since 2010. This group makes it possible for our clients to have access to top PR professionals around the country, if so needed. We are thrilled to be hosting this group in Albuquerque in February; our team is looking forward to not only showing off our great city but taking in a couple of days of strategic professional development.
  •  2016 NMPRSA Board President: I’m very excited to be serving as board president for the New Mexico Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. It’s a position that Tom has also held and I happen to be serving with former Garrity Group senior account executive, Julianne Phares as president-elect. I look forward to our talented board offering some exciting programs, professional development and building overall awareness of the public relations practice throughout the state.

These important events and role, coupled with the release of our 2016 Garrity Perception Survey that tells us and our clients who New Mexicans trust and where they turn for news, solidifies our commitment to this state and our practice. We look forward to learning more, and more importantly sharing more, stay tuned!
