Challenge: Presbyterian Healthcare Services is the largest physician group and insurance program in New Mexico. One of its successes included a nationally recognized heart group. Faced with a specialized Heart Center opening, in competition to its own practice, PHS brought on The Garrity Group as a strategic partner to promote the Presbyterian Heart Group as the premier team in New Mexico.
Approach: The Garrity Group positioned PHS as leaders by focusing on its existing physicians and specialists, focusing on their tenure and involvement in the community. Media tours and guerrilla-style marketing events were used to promote the practice in the wake of a national heart group trying to build awareness and credibility for its new competitive program in Albuquerque. The program was so successful that the firm was brought on to assist as a counselor to New Mexico’s largest healthcare organization, The Garrity Group helped to shape some of the industry’s most talked about stories and issues: HMO’s, healthcare reform, new medical treatments and their effect on our medical ethics, and more.
Results: The Garrity Group successfully implemented public relations strategies in order to secure positive editorial coverage for Presbyterian while effectively positioning the organization as an industry leader in New Mexico.
