The Garrity Group opened their doors to the New Mexico community in 1997. 20 years later, the firm continues to successfully work with local and national businesses to help their brand not only be heard, but understood. Below are some of our favorite client moments from the past 20 years.

1997 – 1997 Roswell UFO Encounter 50th Anniversary

In their first year of business, TGG worked with the annual Roswell UFO Encounter Festival. This festival celebrated the 50th anniversary of what ufologists claim was the crash of an extraterrestrial craft. TGG worked to increase tourism for the city of Roswell through this exciting event. This was accomplished through media relation tactics, which lead to coverage such as this WIRED story.

2000 – Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is an eight-day event that celebrates and promotes the sport of ballooning. Daily activities provide guests with an opportunity to be encompassed by hot air and gas balloons. The Garrity Group works year round with a focus on media relations to increase awareness and attendance of this amazing event. In the year 2000, Balloon Fiesta attracted over 1,000 balloonists from around the world.

2001 – Matthew Propp

This client stepped into the national spotlight when he turned 21 years of age and his adoptive parents turned themselves in to authorities on account of kidnapping. The Garrity Group worked closely with the legal team to develop messaging and field local, national and international media requests on behalf of the adoptive family and their son. In turn, the team’s campaign resulted in interviews such as Larry King Live, Good Morning America, and The Today Show.

2007 – Mechanical Electrical Sheet Metal Alliance

The Mechanical Electrical Sheet Metal Alliance, also known as MESA, worked with TGG to increase interest in apprentice programs and promote membership to respective unions. The Garrity Group’s outreach efforts led to a 10 percent increase of inquiries and applications for the apprenticeship program after one year of hard work.

2011 – The Garrity Perception Survey

2011 was the first year that The Garrity Perception Survey (GPS) was conducted. An annual tradition, this survey has provided seven years of information to TGG with regards to industry preferences here in New Mexico. It serves as a useful tool for both TGG and clients alike, as it guides the firm’s four-step process of research, planning, execution, and evaluation.

2016 – Comcast

Comcast Cares Day is an annual event that takes place nationwide in the spring. An event where Comcast employees give back to the community by fulfilling several projects in each participating region, TGG helps the company prepare for digital and traditional media coverage. In 2016, TGG worked with Comcast on the event to garner coverage for the 3,500 volunteers who showed up in New Mexico.

2017 – The Container Store

The Container Store is a national retailer who entered the New Mexico market in the summer of 2017. A unique store to join the Coronado Center, TGG worked closely with media to generate excitement for the grand opening. As a result of this multi-step process, the grand opening was quoted as being the largest in the history of the retailer.
