Gary is a native New Mexican with extensive experience in government relations and hospitality. He has worked for the State of New Mexico Tourism Department and with the Department of Cultural Affairs for the past thirty years. In addition to managing the public relations program for the Tourism Department, he has also held a number of leadership roles at both organizations. Gary’s role with the Department of Cultural Affairs was as Deputy Director at both the National Hispanic Cultural Center and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. He has also held the position of Interim Director at both museums. Gary graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Management. In 2009, the School of Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Management awarded him a Distinguished Alumni Award.
Gary loves being outside and enjoying New Mexico’s numerous natural wonders with his family.
