The Garrity Perception Survey (GPS) is the premier resource for understanding New Mexico residents. Since 2011, the annual survey measures whom residents trust, which industries are favorable, and how residents access news and information. The 2025 results are in and we will start sharing insights through our blog and social channels.

The unique scientific survey, conducted by Research & Polling Inc. provides insights into how New Mexico residents’ views can vary based on their geography and demographics.

The core of the survey is identifying the favorability of 17 industries/institutions, the trust of 15 people/professions and how residents access news/information. The 2025 Survey also touches on the role of government and corporations, the level of faith New Mexico residents have and how stressed out we are!

The value is not just in the ranking but also, identifying supporters of these industries: Small Businesses, Solar & Wind, Oil & Gas, Farm & Ranch, Film & Motion Picture, Local Banks, National Banks, National Laboratories (like Sandia and Los Alamos), Courts and Justice System, Major Business Corporations, Mining Industry, Medical System, Public Schools, Commercial Construction Industry, State Universities in New Mexico, Community Colleges, as well as Church and Organized Religion.
